Think about friendship

Social media is an electronic way of keeping in touch with people using, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter and more. There are good things about social media. You could talk to people that you don’t see that often or you can even get together with other family members or friends But you would have to watch out because there could be really mean and nasty people that want to hurt you.

How could you stay away from dangerous people? You should check your privacy settings or get an adult to check it. Make sure you never give out any personal details or name, address, phone number, birthday or email address. Don’t tell anyone what things you do at certain times. Don’t accept a friend request from people you don’t know. If they say they are a family member always get an adult to check. There are a number of dangerous people that pretend to be someone else so make sure you stay away from him or her.

You should never be nasty or cruel to anyone online. Not only is it unkind and bullying  but they could know something personal about you and post it online to where anyone in the world can see it. You and your friends should never reply to any hateful, cruel or dangerous comments. Always tell your parents or someone you trust and make sure you block the nasty people. They only say that because they are not face to face with you.

Never post any stupid photos because if you post it anyone in the world might see it and it will stay there forever. Even if you try out for a job your boss might see the photos.

If you and a friend are using Facebook then this is how you can stay out of danger. Make sure you never do any stupid things and keep your personal details to yourself. If you have some friends that have social media then you could keep reminding each other about this. When you and your friends are safe then you could enjoy chatting with each other.

“See you at school,” Chucky whispered creeping out the door slowly and silently.”Beep beep beep.” My alarm clock went off. “I can’t wait to get to school,” I  said as I raised my body  up to get ready.”What is happening to me?” I said. “I can’t get up.”

I called to my Mom and Dad but I got no reply “Noo!” I yelled out with rage. ”When I get my hands on him ugh get me out of here,” .Tears came out of my eyes as I slowly lay back down onto the bed. “Click” as the sound of the door opened Dad walked in “What are you doing?. You are going to be late for school. “It was Chucky. He taped me to the bed. What?. Do you think I want to stay at home? No! Now get me out.”

Bang! I raged into the classroom scoping out the area looking for Chucky. “Where Is he?” I whispered to myself. I walked over to my desk looking at my brother the whole time until the morning tea time bell rang . Woosh as I took off to my brother.”Why did you do that to me?” I shouted.

“Because i'm allowed to.”

“I'm going to tell mum and dad,” I replied.Chucky didn’t care. So he wanted to make me come to school late, I thought. I’m going to sabotage him.

“Come with me,” I whispered to my friends.

“What are we doing?” they said.

“We going to take something from one of his friends or take something from the teacher and place it in his bag”.

“What?” one of them replied. “You can’t do that he’s your brother.”

“I don’t care. He wants to make me come to school late. I'm getting revenge on him.”

A squeak came from the door while we tried to open it.

One of my friends found the teacher's bag. “Over here” I found the teacher's phone and put it in my brother’s bag.

“What am I doing? I don’t want to become like my brother” I said to myself. “Guys, throw me the phone, I’m going to put it back.” Click as the door opened the teacher walked in.

“Duck!” I said to all my friends.

”Where is my phone?” said the teacher. “I am positive I left it on the desk. Oh no one of the children have it.” The teacher stomped out of the classroom with rage.

“Come put the phone in her bag and let's go.Let’s run up to her and say what’s the matter and if she says someone has taken my phone we will just say she left it in her bag.

Fire Drill

Fire Drill

We have fire drills so that everybody knows what to do if there's a real fire happening. We should have fire drills at school, at work and at home. We need them anywhere where people need to know how to get out of a building safely.

When a fire alarm goes off everybody should know what to do and they will only know this if they practise regularly. When a fire alarm goes off everybody should know not to take anything with them and know where the closest exit is. You should never go to the exit where everybody is bunched up because it will slow you down. People should then meet at the assembly point. After you have met at the assembly point then the teacher will have to check if everyone is there. There will be one person that has to run around the classrooms, the hall and the toilets to know if everyone has made it out safely. If we practise this regularly then we would know not to panic or freak out. You should always practise the fire drills with your family members because you don’t know what could happen at home if there’s a real fire. Everybody should know to call 111 but make sure you’re out of the house first.

Another reason for a fire drill is to check if the fire alarm works because if it is faulty then you wouldn't know what is happening. It is also a chance to check if the batteries work and make sure nobody has vandalized it. You should never ever take out the fire alarms.

A real fire would put everyone's life in great danger. It is really important to know what to do and how to behave calmly. If everybody is safely out of the building then the firemen can get on with their job putting out the fire.

The best pet - Dog

I have chosen to write about a dog because they can be helpful in many different way like by protecting, alerting, hunting and helping. Dogs are loyal and trustworthy but they must know if you can trust them. If you gain the dogs trust then it will know who to listen to and it knows who the boss is. Dogs know if you are feeling down and it will know when to come and comfort you but you should make sure you train your dog because that is one of the first things you do.  If you train your dog then it will know where to go potty so it will make you happy and keep the dog out of trouble.

Turtle and the Fish

Did you know that back in the olden days fishes used to live in a big pond by the castle?. There was one fish that knew how to do tricks and was really good at tricking people into giving him some snacks. He would jump out of the water and flipper around or jump up and flip and then dive back into the water. Then he waited for the people to him a snack.  

One day while he was performing his tricks he had seen a turtle crying. He then swam over to the turtle and asked if she was alright. She didn’t answer back because she couldn't hear him so he swam past her and she got a shock because she thought that he was going to bully her.

But no, he came over and asked again “Are you okay?” She replied and said “No.” The fish asked if she would like to see a trick and the turtle said “Yes please” so fish sped around her causing a tornado and jumped out of the water trying his best to pull off a double frontflip. But guess what the fish had just landed face first into the water before his belly hit the water. He felt so proud of himself and even checked if the turtle was paying attention

The turtle was so amazed that she stopped crying. She then paddled over to the fish and asked “How did you do that.?” The fish replied “I don’t know. I just believed in myself and closed my eyes and tried to land and guess what i landed in the water.”

The turtle felt happy because the fish had showed her to believe in herself and never give up. The fish felt really happy that he had cheered the turtle up and still could not believe how he landed the flip. They then became best friends and the fish taught the turtle how to do some tricks.

Diwali Celebration

Today I will be talking about one of the biggest celebration which is diwali. Diwali is a Hindu celebration that involves fireworks, Patterns, gold, sweets, food and much more… The diwali celebration last about 5 days and that is a very long time.

The Hindu people wake up very early so they can tidy up the house for the Gods. The girls also get dress into their nice outfits and the boys I think they get changed into their outfits. They also light candles up and put it around the house and during nighttime they light up there fireworks and if you look into the sky you will see millions of fireworks going off.

The Hindus love to make Rangoli patterns and if you look at the top left you will see mine. The girls also get this pattern done on there hand and it looks nice.

How to build a cardboard bulldozer

Toy Cardboard Bulldozer

List of materials:

Empty toilet paper roll

Cardboard

Scissors

SelloTape/Hot glue gun

Pencil/Marker

2 Straws

A little cup that is the size of the wheels you want

Newspaper

Method:

Cover the table or whatever you’re using with newspaper so you don’t make a mess.

Get all the materials that have been listed.

Use the cup to draw 4 circles on the cardboard for the wheels.

Cut out the four circles you have drawn.

Put one hole in the middle of each wheel so the straw can go through .

Get your toilet paper roll and poke two holes opposite from each other at the back and front. Make sure this is where you want the wheels to be.

Make the axles using two straws.

Get your axles and put them through the four holes.

Make sure the straws are sticking out a little bit and then cut it.

Attach the glue or sellotape to the back of the wheel.

Hold the wheel in place so it can get stuck.

Use the leftover bit of straws so you can make the shovel.

Glue the leftover bits of straws to the inside of the toilet paper roll just above the axle.

Check if these straws are the same length.

Make the shovel out of the cardboard. Cut the size and the shape of the shovel so it looks like how you want it.

Bend the shovel into a C shape so it can push or lift things out of the  way.

Glue the shovel to the straws using tape or the hot glue gun.

Then you could show people what you built or give it to your little brother or someone to play with.

Round Robin Writing

Today my class and I had learnt a new writing way  it is called round robin writing. It was so much fun we would have to get a group and find some paper. First you would have to put a picture onto a paper and then you would have to start the story off. It will go around and around to the other groups and the best part about this is that the other people have to try and finish off your story. It was alot of fun doing this writing I hope we get to do it again.

Protagonist

Protagonist was the word for our day. We had to read a Maori Myth and then write about the protagonist in that story

Maui is the protagonist in how Maui slowed the sun. He is a god with lot of tattoos around his body .Him and his brothers want to go and find the sun to slow him down because every time they eat it is always night time and he would always get upset. He is very nice to his people he would finish of his chores and if they needed help then he would lend them a hand. He is a very nice person in my opinion.

I have accelerated in my maths because I am started to focus more and I am trying my best to learn my time tables. At the end of the year I will try my best to achieve a 4A or a 5A. To get these result I will try to learn all my times table try and find some challenging maths games.

I have not moved because the reading had gotten harder but i did manage to maintain my position. I will like to achieve a 5B since i have gotten a 4B.

My writing has deccelerated in term 2 but I have maintained my position  in term 3 I think the reason behind this is because i really did not get the understanding of an explanation writing but now I am starting to write a variety of sentence. Next term I will have to write more sentence and use more powerful sentence because I really don’t know what to put down.

I think I will have to try a lot harder if I want to achieve my national standard

Let's Taco Bout it

Yesterday my class and I were doing some puns. If you look closely then you will see that it says lets taco bout it. If you don't get the meaning of it is if you are hiding something and you want to talk about then that is the meaning

Matific Games

Today my class and I have began to play a game called matific it is a maths games which gives you random math questions. It is a lot of fun to play this game but sometimes I will have to try and test myself because there will be some hard questions that I will not know.  If you complete the math game without getting any questions wrong then it will give you five stars but if you get more than one wrong it will give you three of four stars. There is also a daily limit which is if you get to one thousand point then you will get the golden card and you can choose from five cards and it will have a character.

Helping Mr Hendricks

 

This week some boys and I had been helping Mr hendrick move some logs. As you can see in the picture  it is a very big  and it was very hard. If we couldn't left up the the log then we would have drop but most of us we ignore the pain and try to carry on but we wouldn't get that far. If we couldn't hold the logs up then the adult would have to help us carry it. It also made us miss out on most of the work.

Crocodile mouth

This week we used inequality signs <, > and = to compare fractions.

On Monday we used materials. This was easy/difficulty/confusing/problematic for me because. The maths was very easy to figure out but I did have some difficulties trying to figure some problems out.

On Wednesday  we worked without the above.  We learnt a strategy which was …… The  knowledge required to solve to  problems this way is . If you want to know this math problem then you need to know your times table if you want you want to figure out the problem

This was easy/difficulty/confusing/problematic for me because…

At the start it was a bit confusing but then I started to get the hang of it because the crocodile alway goes for the big number.  ⅓ < ½   The crocodile will go for the 1 half because it is bigger than the one third.

Football Skills

This morning my class and i went to see a coach named Steve he came to our school to teach us some football skills. This is some of the football skills i have learnt.

1. Score - Always hit the you inner foot.
2. Sole - You keep the ball under your feet when someone is attacking.
3. Pass - Pass the ball with your inner/outer foot.
4. 
   

I have learnt some skill from the coach named Steve he has told me how to score which i have to use my inner foot for more accuracy. Also use the inner and outer foot if I want to pass more better and there is another move called the sole it is a move where you have to put the ball under your feet so when there is a attacker he has more trouble trying to take the ball away from you.

I have also been practising early hours in the morning at school because we have this thing called sports camp training and it is very fun but also challenging. On tuesday it starts at 7:30 am and on thursday it starts after school which is 3:15.

Learning football is fun and awesome but it is also hard because in the real games the people are not going to be going easy so you have to be training hard or else you could cost your team the game.
